Please contact us to discuss the work you have in mind. Amar meets the sitter for the first time outside the studio to put everyone at ease. Once a composition is agreed, preliminary study sketches and photographs are made in the sitter’s environment or in Amar’s studio in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. During completion of the work, the sitter will also attend studio sessions.

All portraits are painted at life-size on stretched linen canvas or aluminium panel, using the highest quality archival materials. Amar currently has a number of works in progress, so he will indicate when he can start your commission. If there are specific requirements of size or content, these can be discussed and costed accordingly. Fees start at £2,500​ for a head and shoulders composition.
